hey everybody!!!

lets play catch up... okay, so...

as you know we loaded up doctor wolverine the rainbow machine 2 weekends in a row headed south on thursday and back north sunday night.  needless to say we all had very interested work days on monday.

 

the first weekend we had gotten invited to play mondo homo 2010, a big radical queer festival in atlanta georgia that was totally incredible! we left thursday night and drove overnight to asheville! in asheville we stayed with our great friends catfish and danny, we got to eat the best brunch at rosetta's kitchen, play at ashevilles amazing worker run info shop the firestorm cafe, and drink great belgian beer next door at the thirsty monk.

after the monk we drove over night to atlanta, and stayed with our friends the long shadows.  we went to mondo homo and had a BLAST!!! we got to see great art, meet great queers, hear awesome music and shake our asses to  sissy nobby and shunda k. we even got a little holler in atlanta's arts and entertainment paper!

the next day we drove 10 hours to charlotte north carolina to play a show with some friends we made at macrock at this great spot the tremont music hall.  before the show we got to catch up with our lovely friends andy and beth who took us to a great local coffee shop. after that we went to the venue and it went from zero to packed.  it was a lovely show and we had a great time.  and danced to m.i.a for the first hour of the long drive back to philly :).

the next weekend we left friday morning for the prospect of getting to swim before the show in charlottesville.  we have an AMAZING friend named bailey who took us to this breath taking quarry to go for a swim.  kyle even hobbled in on his crutches! we all jumped off the ten foot high jump and mikey blunt, the beast war that he is, jumped off of the 75 foot high wall, the presure forcing his silly bands from wrist to around his tricepts. then we played at the tea bazaar, which as per usual, ruled a TON.

after the show we left and drove over night to TN to play idapalooza fruit jam.  we got so lost.  i don't even know that i have any words to describe how great that experience was for everyone.

the next morning we rounded up and left TN for a 10 hour drive to play for our friends in harrisonburg.  i don't think any of us could have asked for a more fun way to end two really fun southern weekends.  they set up a show, got a keg, laughed, conversed, and danced like hell.
