WHAT MACROCK HAS TO SAY ABOUT DANGEROUS PONIES

I ask for but a moment of your time. Please, please imagine lepoard-skin leotards and liberal facepaint on the prairie. Because it’s pretty much the exciting dichotomy that has dominated every sense since I first heard Doctor Ponie, Medicine Ponie by Dangerous … Ponies. (Go figure!)
Bottle excitement and love and seven whole people, arms and legs and rosy cheeks and positive attitudes aplenty, and know that this is the phenomenal result. The Zombies, Of Montreal, Tilly and the Wall, Animal Collective all serve as influences for this band, but the real deciding factor is a three year old nannied by one band member decides what tracks become Dangerous Ponies masterpieces! Too. Rad.

Dear Dangerous Ponies,
I want to be best friends with you, Dangerous Ponies. You’re a clever blend of excitement and proper form and you can be hyped about what you do and still be good at what you do. Overwhelming adorableness and elementary school sing-a-longs should never pair so well with $3.47 wine straight from the bottle (half of the second ends up spilt on the lawn.)
Sincerely,
MaryLynneMACRoCk

PS- Check out Punk Rock Payroll label mates The Extraordinaires!
My favorite track’s at 3:57! A band about having fun and letting people be people!

OH EM GEE, PEA ARE PEA

HEY EVERYONE!

just got back from the prp showcase tour  and we had a BLAST. I'm so thankful we went out on this fun adventure, and because we (like the soccer moms and scrap bookers of america) have so many photographs i though id break it down by show.

the photographs above this are from the baltimore show, everyone played an incredible set we got to see andy and harkness from the armchairs perform as the band for the extraordidudes, and it was MIND BLOWING!!!! we also got to see our old and dear friends at the annex, our buddies IN EVERY ROOM and go to our favorite queer owned breakfast joint, the station north arts cafe.

on our way to charlottesville we saw what looked to be the emerald city, and we got some neon markers to make some psychodelic van art on our seats, we also found clamato budwiser in a rest stop... way to go virginia.  When we got to town we stopped by our good friends the astronomers house and got to jam before our show at the tea bazaar. and brooks, as per usual found a sweet wig somewhere.

The tea bazaar show ruled, we saw some friends we made there last time, made some new ones, everyone played an AWESOME set, and where else can you get free beer, tea, and slamming medeterranian food????? and it was probably one of the sweatiest shows we have played in a hot minute

now as far as boone north carolina goes, i'm not going to lie and say i wasn't skepticle or freaked out for the neon spandex wearing members of our band when we were driving through the dense fog in the back woods of NC trying to get to this show but i can honestly say this was an AMAZING house show, we had so so so much fun, and i'm pretty sure that ben who put the show on is in running for one of the nicest people ive ever met, maybe even the nicest, him and his twin brother promoted they're asses off and the show was a BLAST.

and on the way home we stopped to visit our buddies in richmond and played an amazing show at the triple.  I (as per usual) on the way couldn't wait for a bathroom so we got stuck in the mud on the side of the highway.  While  pushing the van out chris and evan got COVERED in mud storm:

So thank you SO MUCH to all of the wonderful people at PRP and everyone else who helped make this a fantastical weekend:)
