From Nevada City, California. They play a technical blend of math rock, noise rock, and experimental rock. The primary members of the band are Spencer Seim on electric guitar and Zach Hill on drums. In 2005, the band expanded their live band by adding Dan Elkan on vocals, rhythm guitar, and synthesizer and Jonathan Hischke on bass guitar. In 2006, Dan Elkan and Jonathan Hischke left the group. The following line-up included Josh Hill, Carson McWhirter (of The Advantage), and Aaron Ross. In 2009, the band was reduced to core members Hill and Seim. This fierce two piece to five piece and back to two piece audio anomaly is easily one of the most influential two piece bands to rage across the U.S. and abroad in the last decade. Along with being the original foundation of Hella both Spencer Seim and Zach Hill have both gone off on their own to conquer separate musical mountains.Seim with other bands like The Advantage and Sbach and Hill with Sleep Team , Marnie Stern and Most recently his first solo album"Peer Pressure".
